To me, this movie suffers from Bambi syndrome. The first half, overall, is torture. The second half is absolute gold.
The first half had the fantastic scene where Maleficent crashes the party and owns everyone. Then for the next half hour (give or take) we get fairy stupidity and Aurora marathon singing with animals and a creeper. Absolute torture. Sitting through that boring musical number was brutal.
But the second half with Maleficent running the show is fantastic. The whole putting everyone to sleep thing made me yell profanities at the tv because of how dumb it was, but otherwise great.
The two dads fish fighting was comedic gold as well.
