How convenient that you go to play it once it finally gets on the NCAA top 25 list.
Dear god, can't say I noticed that!
Okay, I visited everyone's level and had lots of trouble. Eventually, however, my perseverance was rewarded and I emerged victorious against Flash Man and Crash Man. So far, however, the only other robot master I was able to get to is Wood Man.
I absolutely love this game so far however. It's weird how well the game has aged technically. I also love the level and enemy designs, although this Mega Man's brand of platforming clearly requires more rote memorization than Mario's. Argh. Also I was getting infuriated at the game's physics engine, which reminded me of all those I Wanna Be the Guy YouTube LPs I've seen. I remembered Cloud8745 shouting during his LP, "it's Mega Man's I don't care physics all over again", and now I know why. This game's difficulty does feel occasionally unfair, but the rockin' music and artistic splendor make me want to continue.
I might return to the game later today.
However, now I have absolutely zero doubt that I should do a NES/SNES marathon someday. When, I have no idea. It might not be until a few years down the line!
