Uh, you probably shouldn't have called him out on it during class, in jest or otherwise, if I'm imferring correctly here.
I didn't (I know what I'm doing!).
I walked by his desk (I was walking around talking to them as they wrote down their answers) and I pointed it out and said "Sorry, no bronies allowed."
It was his choice to let the rest of the class in on the fact that he liked the show.
And they weren't like really insulting him, they were just like "My Little Pony is your favorite show?"
