8. I'm Not That Girl (Elphaba)

Yeah, it definitely sounds better to have Elphaba singing it than it does to have Glinda singing it. Once again, any song with Elphaba in a starring role is amazing, I can't deny that, because she's just such a solid singer, and you know that the song is completely in-character for her. The main reason it ranks low (although again, anything in the top ten is really good) is because I'm not a big fan of teen angst. Yeah, I get that she feels depressed because the guy she likes is in love with her best friend, and she's never really had feelings for anyone before because everyone treats her like a freak, but at the same time, it's just such a total cliche. Especially coming off the heels of a scene in which it's pretty obvious that Fiyero DOES like her back, even if she's completely blind to this fact. Add to that the fact that the song itself is a wee bit repetitive and I can only truly justify putting it into the top eight, but no higher.
