If I were him that's what I'd be more concerned about: why 50% of the people who did buy my game decided they didn't want it anymore.

I wouldn't be concerned about people trading in a 10 hour game when they can sell it. I would be concerned about tremendous word of mouth pumping money into Gamestop.
