Also this really scares me if it has a single bit of truth in it:

"Not only has Nintendo not segued onto hipper platforms, but the company hasn't developed the types of games people play now-a-days. "Analysts and investors dismissed the line-up as lackluster and largely irrelevant in the face of cheap or free games played on the likes of Apple's iPhone and iPad and Google-powered Android devices," continues Reynolds. The whole gaming scene has gotten less expensive and more social--Nintendo hasn't adapted."

Does everything need to be Iphone or mobile gaming now? Are people not interested in games with actual meat to them?

I really hate this argument simply because... I just don't see it being that big of a deal. Yeah, the cell phone is evolving beyond having Tetris and Snake clones, but I don't see them posing a danger to portable gaming any more than flash games damaged PC gaming. Which is to say not at all.

All this means is that you might have to mark down the hardware and put more effort into your software. Games like Fire Emblem will do about as well as one would expect accounting for hardware sales, while a game like Tetris 3D would bomb out.
