the shutdown chain thing was an extremely poor choice of words, evidently, but it was indeed meant to refer to destroy droid and whatever else is in that 'chain,' so those abilities are banned. we'll make a full list of what's supposed to be banned to post in dc's future matches for clarification, or something.
dc's voters have stated that destroy droid was not essential to their reasoning and that they believe dc would win even without it. though some of us may have personal reasons to doubt their sincerity, we the admin team ultimately have no choice but to trust their words in the absence of hard evidence.
