In this topic, we are joined by our mutual appreciation for the epic story telling masterpiece that is I Wanna Be The Guy. Let's look at why you should be nominating The Kid/The Guy for the greatest rivalry contest.
FACT: The Kid is willing to brave more crap than pretty much any other character ever in his quest to defeat The Guy. What a brave soul! While some of your other heroes are content to just mow down legions of wimpy mooks and bosses that stand no chance, this guy is out there risking his life against overwhelming odds. Admirable, huh?
FACT: No other rivalry will kill its protagonist more to see through.
FACT: The Kid and The Guy have the greatest pre-battle conversation in the history of not only gaming, but all media. In fact, it's the greatest thing in the history of the entire world. Personally I was moved to tears by the part where he says "I WANNA BE THE GUY".
FACT: This is a deathly personal matter. The Kid is out to kill the man who killed one of his dearest relatives, former Grandfather the Guy. The Guy is defending his throne from his own flesh and blood. Also The Guy is kind of a jackass. **** those little white tracking balls, seriously. How can you NOT support the rivalry that ultimately defeated him?
Add it up folks. This is *the* rally for *the* rivalry of the forever.
