Is this the biggest death (in the US, anyway) since Michael Jackson's?

Not even close. The guy owns several slave shops in China, willingly and warrantlessly puts tracking devices in all the products, calls the middle class a bunch of "useless eaters" and was one of the biggest scumbags on the planet. He deserves about as much sympathy as Saddham Hussein or any other evil dictator, but people choose not to see him that way because they enjoy buying his Chinese slave goods -- from factories where nets are put down to prevent people from killing themselves, where people barely make a dollar an hour, where terrible working conditions and work-related illness are still very prevalent.

People like to pretend the term "slavery" no longer applies to our modern planet (mainly because Americans think slavery ended after the Civil War due to their obscene lack of knowledge), but we have more slaves worldwide now than in any point in human history and Apple was at the forefront for how to use the model. Build a factory in a country America doesn't like, put out a few sympathy pieces where you "catch yourself in the act and vow to clean things up", never actually do anything and continue selling as if nothing ever happened.

So yes, RIP Steve Jobs. Enjoy Hell.
