Nearly Every girl will eventually talk about an ex boyfriend. It's inevitable. They want to see how you react to a challenge. The earlier they talk about him the more challenging they are. They are just begging for a caveman. You have two options: Option A involves talking about your ex girlfriend, Option B, my personal option, is telling her to her that perhaps she should go find him and stop wasting my time.
Well of course, but if it's on a first date it's exceptionally annoying and isn't something you should go to in the reverse. You should only be talking about exes once you're pretty comfortable with one another.
And when you talk about your ex girlfriend you have to do it in the right way. I do dig the "go find him and stop wasting my time" line, though.
