(which sadly, I do not have enough repels to make it to Mewtwo without likely running into something new)

Oh, right, not allowed to just buy repels. Yeah, getting legendaries in a Nuzlocke run is kind of tough; only one that I'd even consider making an attempt at would be...well, it would depend on the version; in RBY, Zapdos would probably be easier just because fewer repels needed to get through, but in its new location for FR/LG, Moltres would probably be the easiest to get, and since its AI always has it use Endure on the first turn of the battle, a sufficiently powerful Electric-type (preferably with Thunder Wave as well in case the Thunderbolt/Thunder doesn't paralyze--normally I'd use Thunder but since you have no margin for error in Nuzlocke I'd want one strong enough to do it with Thunderbolt) can put it in perfect capturing range without worrying about killing it. (Or if you want to use multiple Pokémon, have a Rock-type do 4x damage and then use a sleep-inducing Pokémon, since sleep, while not permanent, increases the chances more than paralysis does.)

...Of course since you're probably not going after any other legendaries, you might as well use a Master Ball on any that you do go after.

You know what? I'm starting to wonder which legendary Pokémon would be reasonably viable to go after in a Nuzlocke run. The first-gen games and their remakes don't really have any. The second-gen games...not really sure. IIRC the trek to Lugia isn't that long. Third-gen, the box legendary is definitely viable; you probably only need a single Repel to get to the back of the Cave of Origin without running into a Pokémon. Depending on what your definition of an "area" is, the three golems are encountered in caves that don't have wild Pokémon, so they're also a possibility (and even if the caves are considered part of the routes they're found on, Regice is still a possibility because the only time you actually have to travel on Route 105, you're on Mr. Briny's boat. Fourth Gen...Regigigas is in a short dungeon, but it can only be obtained by having the other three Golems, which aren't even available in the game without transferring them through Pal Park, so that's a no-go. The existence of the Distortion World makes Platinum!Giratina not only a possibility, but something that doesn't even require Repel. And while Rotom isn't actually a legendary, it definitely doesn't need too much work--though in Diamond/Pearl, it's not available until you get the National Dex, so it's not as viable. Fifth generation actually forces you to capture your box legendary, but luckily for Nuzlockers, it is indeed found in a location with no other Pokémon. Landorus is another one from the Regigigas category--getting to it without running into something else is easy enough, but you'd need to trade with another player before you'd be able to encounter it. (And of course, almost every event legendary is like this--Darkrai, Shaymin, Victini.)
