Mine is a fantasy work about a world that originally has nothing resembling magic, until the moon explodes and the crystals it's made of come raining down on the planet. They give the bearer the ability to manipulate an energy type (like kinetic, thermal, E-M, etc.) They also sometimes affect things on their own. The action (at least initially since I haven't planned very far ahead) follows a schoolmaster in a town on the edge of its nation.
