Uuuuuggggghhhhh writing for a Buddhist/Philosophical guy. Oh well. Ugly wall of text incoming, but this time with user made characters. Also, I'm shortening Norenxaq as Nor at times. Focus on the chapter is on the dragons, and some foreshadowing on the EEs.

Act 8

The guardian of the East, the Figurehead Terror from the West, and the play preparations

2011, somewhere over the Pacific Ocean

Norenxaq looked out the window. It always amazed him, what humans could achieve. Such as the plane he is currently in, a giant metal bird flying traveling miles and miles to reach it's destination safely. Nor could have flown from America to London on his own power, but he needed to preserve his powers until it's needed. He looked back at the flier in his hand, the words Eternal Eye can be seen.

Just a few weeks ago, during one of his divination of the stars, Nor saw an unprecedented ill omen... and the return of an old foe that Nor though he had vanquished a long time ago. Instinctively, Nor checked the mystical pocket dimension where he kept the weapon he obtained from that battle safe. Still there. Better safe than sorry. Especially since the Miasma he can barely sense about 40 years ago. It was as if... there were two different realities, trying to replace each other. If he is the cause of that... then that means the true form of his enemy might be there. Nor's body shook involuntarily, as he remembered his first encounter.

Turning away from the window, Nor cleared his mind and meditated. His thoughts traveled back to his early days traversing this world...

=========

300 BC, approximately

Norenxaq breathed deeply. The steppes were different from the land of his birth, and he simply had to experience it with all of his senses. Well, all his human senses. It wouldn't do to scare the natives of these strange lands in his dragon form. Again. But Nor is one to learn from his mistakes, and Nor is eager to learn. Wait, did that meant he'd like to make mistakes? Pondering this, Nor continued on.

As he continues on, however, Nor began to smell things... burnt flesh... the stink of the dead... Nor hurried on. He saw the remains of a village over the horizon. Turning into his dragon form, Nor reached the village quickly. He cringed at the sight. Houses demolished, scorchmarks all over the grounds, and charred corpses everywhere. He started to circle around to check for survivors when he heard a scream. No, more of an angry scream. The source came from what he thought was a charred corpse. He flew away, and transformed into a human once more. Returning once again in his more appreciable form, Nor went straight towards the person to see if he could help.

"Take it easy, stay calm, you're with a friend now.". Not that Nor expected the person to understand his language, but he had to soothe the poor man. He suffered grievous burns, it's a miracle he even lasted this long. As his master's teaching implied, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Nor then cast a spell to ease his pains. Sadly, it was all he could to for him, he could not do anything more, and Nor silently cursed his weakness at healing magic. The man no longer convulsed every so often, and he opened what was left of his mouth...

"Vechnykh glaz" and with that, the person slowly raised his hand and pointed to a direction. Roughly North, Nor guessed. The man passed away soon after, and Nor spent some time to properly take care of the bodies. After that, Nor set off towards the direction the man pointed. Nor can see tracks of... something, on his way. But the tracks disappeared after making a single set, and was replaced by a human's trail. Deciding that he needed speed more than stealth, Nor shifted into dragon form once again, and went off on his way.
