Well if you go by the Japanese name it's Marl. That much is inarguable. Personally I think it's pretty obvious that the E was added to the English translation just to add 'flavor' to the name and not in order to actually change the pronunciation. So I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be Marl in English as well. I used to say Mar-lee as a kid and now I stopped because... well, I'm not a stupid kid anymore.
