12. Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects featuring Erik Hecht – Walking Alone
Label: Phazing
Genre: Progressive House

The “punchiness” continues with the latest release from Aussie house music legend Dirty South. Between this track and his collaboration with Thomas Gold, Dirty South has been killing it in the scene of vocal house this year. Contrary to the current trend in house music, he seems to prefer working with lesser known vocalists, and I have to say it's worked quite well for him, with his previous productions Phazing and Alive both being smash hits.

Although the kick is decidedly house, this track has a real trance edge to it with both the vocals and the lead. Erik Hecht delivers a great vocal which while not lyrically complex or memorable, will be stuck in your head for days... I guarantee this. It's really quite a simple tune as far as production is concerned and I believe the vocals are what truly carry this track into greatness. Trancy enough to receive play and attention from the trance producers yet commercial and danceable enough to earn a spot in any regular club set.

All around just a great track that has proven to be extremely versatile. I'm hoping to hear more from Erik Hecht in the coming year as well.
