22. R3hab & Swanky Tunes featuring Max C. – Sending My Love
Label: Wall Recordings
Genre: Electro House

There are very few times that I will use the word “badass” to describe the sound of a track. When it is used, I find that it is often the only word available that can even come close to capturing the feel of the sound in question. In a word, Sending My Love is a badass ****ing track.

This is the track that really put R3hab & Swanky Tunes on the map for me. I'm not too big on the electro sound, but every now and then a couple producers will blow me away with the enormity of their productions.... and this track is big. I find it both hilarious and incredibly awesome that music like this can come from a couple of nerdy white boys from the Netherlands. I mean I don't have to look any further than the mirror to see that you can't predict someone's musical taste by looking at them, but the fact that dutch house producers are finding and using these “soulful” vocal samples from black American recording is something that I find really interesting for whatever reason. Speaking of the vocal, it's used in a pretty odd way in this song. Rather than being the focus, it's really just the vehicle that takes you to the track's main attraction....

That drop. It's just badass. If a sounds could serve as definitions, what comes after 4:15 would be the definition of “getting down”. I mean god damn. Dirty dutch house at its finest.
