The only way this works at all is if Rose is dead, Raiden's son is dead / kidnapped / some variation, and the world has gone to **** again because of God knows why, and Raiden decides to get suited up again.
... Which still craps all over MGS4 because it undoes the entire ending. This is like Terminator 3 undoing the entire purpose and message of Terminator 2. The movie by itself might be decent, but it take a big ol' **** on the movie that preceded it.
