6 points for a touchdown (getting to the end zone)
3 points for a field goal (kicking it between the posts)
1 point for an extra point after the touchdown (where they do a kick through the posts right after a touchdown)
2 points if instead of doing the extra kick, they try to get it in the end zone again
And 2 points for a safety, which is if you down the ball in your opponent's own end zone. They don't happen very often, though, so this is probably meaningless.
