I have been struggling since writing the original rules with where exactly the line between "team" and "organization" lies.

I'm gonna make the call that the Fellowship of the Ring DOES count, on the grounds that it's a formally sanctioned group whose existence is acknowledged by the relevant authorities, and they bothered to give the group a formal name (which is highly symbolic of it being an official thing).

I'll make decisions on some of the other ones you guys are questioning at some later date and time. I'm personally unfamiliar with a lot of them, so research will be necessary.

But I'm probably not going to be too much of a hardass about it.

Here's one I'm willing to put up to a vote/discussion, since the definition is sort of in flux:

The Seven Samurai (from the Japanese film of the same name). I've wanted to nominate them from the get-go, but I haven't been sure about whether they'd qualify. My "rule of thumb" has been "more than 2 people, and going on more than 1 adventure or mission together" - by that logic, the Seven Samurai seem like more of a "team". The main reason I'm still questioning the matter is the fact that later on in the film they essentially decided to make themselves a formal brotherhood of sorts, even painting a flag representing their group's members. That symbolic moment makes them seem to have the structure and formality required of an "organization" - especially since they're in a highly structured Japanese caste society, and these sorts of things aren't taken lightly.

Thoughts?
