TopicHelmetless Motorcyclist dies in protest against Mandatory Helmet Laws

If you're riding a motorcycle, safety isn't your first priority to begin with. Not surprised only half of them wear helmets.

Motorcycles are plenty safe if you aren't stupid. Crashes are more dangerous, but you generally won't have a serious crash if you're smart.

People are against seatbelt and helmet laws because it is entirely beyond the right of a government to make such laws. If you have a government of free people, the only legitimate laws are those that govern your dealings with others. Rules that you have to follow even if you don't interact with another human in any way are suitable only for slaves. Seatbelt and Helmet laws do not create an enslaved people, but any government willing to enact such laws is willing to enact any other law they find convenient.

A very very valid point. The same logic that applies to gay marriage.
