It has sounds, but I wouldn't call that Music. Noise is the more appropriate definition

it has distinct design in it's harmony and timbre and sometimes rhythm, it's definitely music though obviously more minimal...and I don't even dislike minimalist music, metroid already had a lot of music falling into that category, other m's just isn't that good for the most part

And speaking of Metroid soundtracks, which game in the series do you think takes top honors there? Until very recently I would've sided with Super Metroid, but watching NintendoCapriSun's LP of Metroid Prime has made me side with the latter.

it's between super metroid and metroid prime for me, both soundtracks really define the series sonically though for different reasons. super metroid tends to use more commonly heard samples and uses a lot of esoteric composition to create it's otherworldly feel, odd meters, mixed meter, atonal, weird modulations etc. metroid prime on the other hand still uses a little of that but is a little more common in it's composition, but uses a lot of well programmed synthesizers to sound like music for an alien planet.

How well do you think this song would fit with the game?:

it almost works but I think the drums are a bit busy, tempo is maybe a few bpm too high, and some of the leads are a bit bright. I think this could easily be arranged into something that would be at home in a metroid game
