CM Punk's mission is to make WWE "interesting" again, and he believes that he is the one who should lead the way to this goal.
The Miz's mission is to make WWE "relevant" again, and he believes that only he carries the media cache to accomplish this goal.
And in both cases, you can make a strong argument that both of them just want to be on top, and the first halves of those sentences are their individual justifications for the paths they've taken.
