I would be extremely nervous about two guys shaking off the ring rust in the same event to be honest. Not to mention the avarage age in both matches then approaches like 40. What is this, WCW? During your supposed "Youth Movement?"

I think Ryder's character needs evolution to be a good champion character. Whether he evolves with the title or gets squashed and goes back to the puruser role in a less goofy manner. You mention one method but I almost feel brodus squashing him so he has months to try and overcome would be better. In a Green Ant kind of way.
As that Grantland article says, Ryder is as much a product of people dissatisfied with WWE as anything else, so this is really make or break time and with no evolution its gonna be break. People are fickle, especially now that he's "made it". Especially since hes no ring general and is kind of limited in value strictly IN the ring. If he has a kofi run his days on the main show are numbered.
