You can almost halfway sort of fit Apollo Justice in with 2-4's bad ending.
It's like shoving the square block into the round peg, but hey, you can make it fit.
Phoenix flat-out references that a friend of his is still around and sending him Steel Samurai tapes to watch in AJ, so I"m really not sure how that would work if that isn't Maya. Unless it's Pearl, but that's stretching it.
But I'm one of the few that doesn't think AJ was a disgrace to the entire series so what do I know.
