Getting rid of Apollo Justice is fine by me. But it looks Capcom has decided to kill the series instead.
This is because of the wretched fans of Apollo Justice. There are actually people who would be angry to have Apollo Justice kicked aside and forgotten.
I think these Edgeworth games and movies and crossovers are just them trying to buy time, hoping to distance themselves from AJ's release so it won't be such a big deal if they decide the next game ignores AJ's existence. Like if the next main Ace Attorney game were twenty years from now, and it followed Phoenix Wright in his fourth year of being an attorney, completely ignoring what AJ says happens that year, people would be too happy that the series is back to care.
