Yeah, I know I'm in the minority here, but I personally can't support including the "non-originating from video games" clause. In that case, Bacon might as well include all fictional characters regardless of appearing in video game or not, because would people really vote Superman based on his appearance in Superman 64 instead of his comics/books?
GameFAQs is a site for gamers. The last I want to see on this site are comic book characters and Disney characters that I can't care less about duking it out in the quarterfinals. If I did, I'd just go to imdb.com or whatever other site that caters to this. Instead, retire Link, bring back 4-ways, get game contests back again, etc but please don't change the core of the contests.
