I can't really imagine dying 5 times in a row.
You might eventually on some of the harder sections of Bowser levels. My mistake was going for a tricky star coin before I realized it would lock me out of the shiny stars (not that they actually DO anything, but it's annoying to get). They really should have made the requirement not USING the golden block.
Once you beat the game, though, it doesn't matter and you can die all you want.
