Then I think I'm more inclined to side with Rachel. I mean, they had an argument, and it ended badly. There was every chance they would've patched things up and the "on a break" comment would've just been a heat of the moment kind of thing, that they really didn't want to go on a break. The fact Ross had sex almost immediately after gives off the impression he didn't want to work things out with Rachel.
Now, had the break been a for sure thing, and it went on for days, then I'd side with Ross.
Of course, my view could change if I actually end up watching the episode.
