Anyone that needs to try playing the "majority rules" card is both woefully ignorant of history and never worth taking seriously, especially on mature matters like this one. For the record, most of the countries that consider this "perfectly acceptable", like Afghanistan, are involved in cases of abusing and torturing teenage brides.

(possibly an offensive picture, but this has been all over the news so I'll be shocked if most haven't seen it already) http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/03/9929737-afghan-officials-were-hunting-tortured-teen-brides-husband

This board is mostly liberal, so an MSNBC article should suffice as enough of a source. And which is it? A parent can't discipline their child, but an older husband should be allowed to punch his wife around the kitchen all day? No wonder no one takes you seriously.

There is ONE reason a 19 year-old guy would date a 14 year-old girl. One. The girl's mom is a goddamn idiot for allowing it, and I'd be shocked if even one girl on this board thought it was a good idea either. If you made the case that people of the same age should be allowed the freedom to make more adult choices, I totally agree. If you treat people like adults, they act like adults. But a 14 year-old girl with a 19 year-old boy? Hell effin no.

Now, I'm not defending him or the guy. I agree that what he's probably doing with the 14 year old girl is laughably disgusting.

However, it comes to the point where I have to look past my beliefs and see what real damage can come of it. If you believe the girl is going to get knocked up because she isn't smart enough to use protection, then put a stop to it. If you just believe she's going to have sex? I've heard of worse things by that age, and though I wouldn't agree with it, I'd let her and the guy make that choice. She can move on from it afterwards.
