Honestly I don't think this is as clear-cut as you're making it sound. Ultimately a kid, however much of a douchebag bully, was killed and no charges were brought to the killer. I mean you have to be pretty strongly biased to think there's no grey area here.

There's always a grey area to things like this. We don't know all the details, we don't know the exact moment the bullied snapped and the exact moment he calmed down enough to think rationally. But from all the facts we've been told, it looks simple enough. Victim attempts to avoid fight, bully follows and starts fight, victim tries to flee, friends of bully stops him, victim feels threatened enough to use lethal force.

His actions were just considering the situation, but like I said it isn't pretty. Killing is usually wrong, but there are exceptions. This situation is arguably an exception. That's a grey area if you ask me.

On a similar note, why the hell aren't the parents/school getting their collective asses verbally tanned over this? Bully doesn't start at killing, it has to build up long enough for it to happen. What steps were there to attempt to prevent this? Or was it another classic case of ignoring the problem until it turns into a complete ****ing disaster?
