I'll save y'all the medical jargon and try to explain this as succinctly as I can.

One of our patients has been really sick in my unit for 2 weeks now. We knew he had heart problems but no-one could figure out why he wasn't recovering. Well, today we found out. He has tuberculosis. I've spent over 10 hours in his room and I'm considered the most compromised person in our unit (along with his nurse).

The hospital isn't going to start us on medication until they get a 2nd test verifying that he has tuberculosis, but the nurses told me its happened before and that's what he has.

So they're pretty sure I have TB. I've brought it home to my heart defective mother and father. We will likely all be put on intense medication regimens.

Great to work in the public service industry, huh?
