Regarding that, do you think there's another possible character that might be in this game but unclaimed?
AFAIK, 'important' Touhou characters include...Remilia, Flandre, Youmu..
also Remillia and Flandre sound like perfect scum candidates, even though I still dont know what the split is all about
Flandre is my #1 suspect for SK by far. She's sociopathic, psychotic, destroys everything around her and pretty much is kept locked in the basement by Remilia (though she doesn't seem to mind). She'd make sense as scum too (and so would Remilia). I don't know what scum role would make sense for her (Flandre), though she is associated with Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. She also has a spellcard where she splits into four, so early on I was thinking of her as potential double-voter, but Satori makes as much sense and was my other thought for that role. Both are vampires.
If I could figure out the connection between the 4 dead scum, I would have a much better idea of who might also be included. So far, all are final or extra bosses. Remilia and Flandre are final and extra respectively. Eirin is sort of a final (if you don't beat Reisen in time). She makes potions (including an immortality potion) so she could have an item ability like Nitori did. Scum doctor Eirin who can make potions seems plausible. I don't see Kanako or Suwako being scum. They never really had very bad intentions, and being gods, I'd think they'd make more sense as Vanillas (like Yukari). Utsuho is a final, Koishi is extra. I don't see Byakuren as scum. She was more about humans and Youkai living in peace. As for the newest game, there's Miko and Mamizou. Miko can hear 10 desires at once (like understanding/processing what everyone is saying in a room where everyone is talking at once). She was essentially revived to stop the revival of Byakuren, and is based on some Japanese historical figure, apparently a reincarnation. Mamizou is referred to as a "Youkai trump card," a last resort to stop Byakuren's revival who it seems showed up late.
The problem, "all scum = last bosses or extra bosses" is shaky and includes a lot of characters. The only other connection between the 4 we've got already is that they're featured in different games. As far as relationships, Marisa can basically be connected to everyone as she's a main character of the series, and with her being scum and Reimu being town, that gives us nothing. Kogasa is the mid-boss in Nue's stage but is also the mid-boss in Yoshika's stage in the next game. Yuyuko is also the first boss in the newest game (may have already mentioned this).
I would say that with Marisa being godfather (assuming that means the leader of the scum) and Reimu being the most broken town role, the line should be drawn based on them, which makes it difficult because the only time they were against each other was in Imperishable Night (touhou 8). Yuyuko was playable, but choosing her team, you would fight against Marisa. Nue didn't show up until touhou 12.
