Yeah Krokorok is a good example of one that is both cute and badass and does both things WELL, but that's a rare one all told. Middles strike a nice balance between the two, but you lose appeal at both ends of the spectrum. It's like "I like badass things...but the Charizard is more badass than you, Charmeleon. I also like cute things...but Charmander is more cute than you are, Charmeleon. So why should I like you more than your evolutionary relatives?"
That's just so bad though! It's very rare when a middie is (near) unanimously acknowledged as the best of its line. In fact, so far there has been Dewott and... Dewott. >_>
There are a lot of people who like Ivysaur, Quilava, and Krokorok the best out of their lines, but for the most part middies just go forgotten all day, everyday and it saddens me because they're so much more awesome than they're given credit for. It's great when Dewott gets its due, but darn it 1/150 is not enough!
