Good luck! What are some of the differences between the NY and NJ exam? I always figured that the differences between state bar exams were minimal.

I wish. There are way too many differences to possibly list. First off, NJ only tests on the multi-state subjects (6 subjects). NY tests on about 18 subjects. Then even in the 6 multi-state subjects, they all have tons of NY distinctions that we have to memorize. When making our outlines, we write up the federal law and then add in all the NY distinctions and highlight it in Word. So, for example, my criminal law outline nearly doubled when adding the NY distinctions. So we're talking about probably 12 extra subjects in NY + pages of distinctions in the multi-state subjects (the NJ tested subjects).

The Devil's Advocate makes me think that the NY bar exam must be pretty awesome.

It's horrible.
