so I've never played an mmo, but I'm a star wars dork so when the free trial invites popped up, I jumped on it.
first of all, I'd say I'm having a lot of fun. I started as a jedi consular and went jedi shadow when it let me. the concept of a jedi ninja was appealling to me. (oh yeah, I'm on the shii-cho server). anyway, my character is named sporki and I'm really awesome looking. she's a mirialan with a pleasant shade of green skin and white hair that is shoulder length in the front/short in the back.
anyways, tython I found to be a lot of fun. I was of course confused at first as to how combat works but it seemed a bit more natural after a few hours. I kind of wish there was a lot more lore to be gathered about random stuff in the environment, like plants and machines and animals and cultural things, on the level of, say, metroid prime. that would be awesome, because at this point, I like to just walk around and look at stuff.
there seems to be a lot of random stuff that you can get into if you want to, like the stock market thing or the companion jazz, but at this point, I'm not bothering with it.
one thing that is annoying me, though, is that my companion is continuously in between the screen and enemies, making it difficult to target them. instead I accidentally talk to my companion repeatedly. I wish there was a way to click on enemies through my companion.
I have a lot of other impressions but I'll share them periodically.
anyway, though, I've hit the level cap for the trial, so I think I'm going to buy. the question is, should I buy the digital deluxe edition, or the collector's edition?
is there anything in the collector's edition that is worth it?
