I don't think there's a clear majority either way. But I posted my evidence, where's yours? Just because one side is louder, doesn't mean it's bigger.
Of course, even the people who like Other M generally consider it one of the weaker games in the series from what I have seen. Myself included.

Metroid doesn't really sell anymore than a million and a half at best anyways.
Just based on some wikipedia stats, Other M sold maybe a little less than Echoes and more than Zero Mission.
If someone's got more reliable figures, that'd be cool.
Prime sold like 3 million copies. Normally 1.5 million is about average for the series, Other M sold only just over half that. Amusingly it had some of the strongest opening sales in the series, and then unusually for a Nintendo game absolutely collapsed on the lifetime sales. You can bet that bad word of mouth caused that.
