I may not have direct evidence (or rather I cant be bothered to go look for it), but I have heard a LOT more people call it bad than I have heard people call it good
I dont hate people liking the game,
I dislike people saying the game must be found good because someone likes it
of course the game would have had less problems if it was simply not a Metroid game, but then nobody would talk about it much
How about they think the game is good and you do not. Problem solved.

Don't people move past the "opinions are subjective" point after, like, middle school? We all know that preferences are relative, but that doesn't mean we can't have mature, intelligent discussions about artistic quality within an accepted standard. If this standard involves terrible writing, in-your-face symbolism, atrocious pacing, anticlimax, cheeseball dialogue and delivery, and the undermining of past character development, then I suppose Other M could be seen as "quality."
All of those things you listed are subjective quantities.
