Just because Metroid games never had cutscenes before, doesn't mean this game can have bad ones or it's OK that it does.
I'm enjoying my video game, how is that not okay?
I wanted a fun game to play, I got a fun game to play, I enjoyed it. Metroid's are gameplay centric games, it's not like it's an RPG where you're buying it for a story, no, it's a Metroid and I buy it for mah Speed Boosters and Screw Attacks
