Basically that single parents (I single-out the moms because I was talking specifically about "dealbreakers" when dating) are not heroes. That rather than hold them up as role models, society should hold them up as failures and examples of what NOT to do. Generally speaking, of course. I entertain the REMOTE possibility that some situations are completely and totally 100% one person (always the man, of course!)'s fault.
My dad stole all their money when my parents were together so they couldn't pay bills and also cheated on my mom a ton of times. Eventually she couldn't take it anymore, divorced him, and kicked him out. Then she raised me and my two brothers alone working whatever she could
I didn't really understand that stuff at the time, but knowing my dad and my mom, yeah, I'm quite confident that's exactly what happened. My dad turned out to be a deadbeat and my mom did everything she could to provide for my brothers and I.
So yeah, from my perspective, I don't know how you could possibly hold the position you do.
Sure, there are single parents that just abuse social programs and stuff but to say single parents are failures.... Yeah, it could drive me to violence.
