I think lack of gems takes out some of the fun. Honestly.
Also people just aren't taking well to the system yet. I think people are playing it for what they think SFxT is instead of for what it actually is.
Like Valle seems to understand the game pretty well. It has the roll mix-ups, it has knowing when to switch. (or just as importantly knowing NOT to switch in a character with 25% recoverable health just because you're in a combo) It has a lot of mechanics and people are utilizing SOME of them and ignoring the rest.
