Bit of a kick to the nuts after the initial anger of the news and all the years of the community resenting the merge that when the time comes that people are actually accepting the situation and not noticing the gamespot issue any more that we get a retraction and a "yeah this never made sense to begin with, LOL us".
At this stage separating from gamespot doesn't carry the clout it might have before, with the gamefaqs traffic decline the reduced activity on the game boards may significantly hurt it as well.
