I know you do, ha how can you be against "HEY"s is the question. It's you know, for pumping your fist in the air. It's rythmic, it's fun, it's metal. How do you weigh in on the "WhooooooaOHHHH~OHHHH"? How about "Yow Yow"?

As a Dio fan I hope you'd at least dig "Ooooh yeah" and "ALL RIGHT". I love those kinds of vocal fun things in the mighty metal.

As a general rule, I dislike repeated little vocal interjections like that unless it's the drawn out "ohhhhOOHHHHHohhh" style that changes in pitch a bit (see: Christian Mistress - Possession), and wow typing out that particular sound looks awful, doesn't it? One off ones are okay (like the "oh oh yeah" to kick off Maiden's Phantom of the Opera), it's only the repetition that really makes it sound silly.

Didn't know which Ayreon song to go with, so I went with

you probably hate them all anyways >_>

Also not trying to start any arguments, but System of a Down is a GREAT band.

Yeah I dislike most Ayreon now, used to be a big fan though. There's a couple songs on this album that I like or at least don't mind and one features a really cool section by a female vocalist whose name continuously alludes me (I think it's vaguely German? I could probably just look up the line up for 01011001 but that would spoil the fun). This isn't really one of them, although it's pretty inoffensive, at least for the first two and a half minutes; it kind of goes a bit downhill at that point, though not too far. It's the standard Arjen Lucassen problem, he can pull together a ton of talented people, especially vocalists, but then ends up using them mostly on really cheesy attempts at being epic. Huh, is that Hansi Kurch? I forgot he was on this album. Considering this album was basically the culmination of half a dozen concepts albums worth of zany alien time travel plot shenanigans, it kind of needed to be a lot stronger to do justice to whatever legacy it was hoping to fulfill. Oh yeah, this song in particular. It's listenable.

As for System of a Down, based on my experience of that one song they're one of the assiest things in the universe <_<

*posts classic Megadeth song*

Megadeth - Peace Sells

Shifting from Ayreon to Megadeth is quite the change! I believe I've already given my thoughts on this album in general ("it's very good"), although I'll point out here that I find this track a tad on the weaker side; it's a bit too repetitive early on and the main riff isn't really forceful enough to carry it off. It still sounds okay, especially since you've got some nice guitar leads thrown in, but it doesn't truly take off until the second half of the song really ramps the energy level up.

I lied.

*Takes another pitch*

You are now tantalizingly close to achieving your goal <_< And will be closer still by the end of this write up, I imagine.

I quite like Suffocation but I much prefer their earlier material (wow, a death metal band whose early works are their best? What a shock!). This isn't bad, but it just doesn't really have the same intensity or quality, and also I feel like Frank Mullen's vocals were at their best on Effigy, which is my favourite of their albums. Almost at the character limit so let's end it here by saying "I like it".
