I usually went for experience or money if I knew it would be a lot of money. Plus you could smack down those gold hands for coins too. Sure sometimes they run. I don't recall being hard up for cash in OG 3 and in P3P I broke the economy without even doing anything special. I kept finding really good weapons and selling them essentially.
