Why is it always a teacher, a religious figurehead or both?

Usually because it puts you in more situations where you can take advantage of younger people.

Religious figurehead inherently carries with it an air of chastity/piousness for people who belong to the church, so you're less likely to think "Oh is my kid actually safe with this person?" the way you would for a rando adult. And it's easier to be like "oh no if I report this I'm hurting the church not just getting justice for the person" or w/e.

Coach gets a lot of excuses to make physical contact with students and tend to carry an additional power over student athletes in a way that regular teachers don't. After all, if you're dreaming of being a starter, you're less likely to call out the fact that your coach finds excuses to walk through when the team is showering.
