If it's just the way he delivered it that's making it hard to accept, let me say some of it with a calmer tone. First off, I'm sympathetic to Wil Wheaton's rough childhood, even if he may not have needed to go as hard on Larry David or his shows as a result. I happen to be a huge fan of Seinfeld. Comedy is often about the unexpected; betrayed expectations from people behaving poorly in normal situations is a valid and rich mine for jokes. The thing is that while being in a talk show is being on tv this wasn't one of his sitcoms; It was pretty self absorbed to go into a segment not about him, could upset kids to see their little buddy Elmo attacked, and the cherry on the cake is that it was really tone deaf to do when he was trying to do a positive story about mental health. We can all agree that, right? Curb your Enthusiasm is supposed to be funny because it's a wacky fictional portrayal of him, he's not just supposed to go around being a bit of an ass in real life, right?

I'm kind of a bit sad that "it's the internet" means we see someone in pain and laugh at it if they seem too upset about it. I don't want to get that jaded.
