Usually the incumbents have it harder, but this kind of perspective usually leaves out the obvious opponent. To who? In the U.S. being an incumbent comes with a boost in their favor. That's why so many members of Congress retain their seats while doing nothing, because they're the incumbent and have name recognition. Having said that, the media is treating Trump like he's some newcomer when they talk about his performance in the primaries when he's essentially an incumbent himself, just 4 years removed. Him barely getting 51% in Iowa is actually pretty terrible for an incumbent candidate. TurtleInFreedom posted... Political apathy and ignorance is why the U.S. is so fucked up in its politics.
