I don't see how that era could possibly be worse than this current one where everybody is rolling with decks that win on turn one or two and you're not even really interacting with your opponent outside of trying to interrupt their combo, which if you do means you're probably going to win instead. It's brain dead flow chart nonsense that you could probably teach a crow to play optimally.

And then the crow gets fucked when they get hand trapped and doesn't know how to play turn 2+.

Yes there is flowchart nonsense but there's a reason why the top players enjoyed the latest tear zero format because it actually showed off skill in the mirror matches.

This is not me trying to fanboy ygo btw. I realize the major flaws the game has. Hell I want to fucking fall asleep when my cousin is doing his 10 minute turn.
