Walgreens makes over 75% of their revenue on prescription sales, the front end retail portion is mostly based on beauty sales. The other shit is just considered self serve convenience items and they're monitored by KPIs but are only a fraction of how a store is performing. That's why a shift lead who basically counts money and voids transactions makes less than a new uncertified pharmacy tech off the street. Walmart is a reverse model of pharmacies as they can basically subsidize the cost of prescriptions for uninsured people to try and get them in the door to buy groceries and other goods ...
