| HeroDelTiempo17 02/14/24 6:23:42 PM #43: | In the case of Yakuza/LAD, I would say that for one thing it is not meaningfully "open world" in the same way that an Ubisoft game or even Xenoblade is. The thing there is small but dense maps with high detail but only specific ways to interact. They also manage to have such high fidelity while pumping out releases because they reuse tons of assets every time. Which is a good thing imo, but in some ways that's opposed to the blockbuster AAA model of shiny new things. See also Tears of the Kingdom reusing the Hyrule map, and how that had mixed reception.
