Isn't this an issue with how Fox aired everything pretty much out of order? I remember hearing they absolutely butchered it worse than how the execs muddled with B5's air order. That is why the team finding Jean in between the Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix Saga wasn't shown, the episode "No Mutant is An Island" wasn't ready. But no, Season 1 did establish that the team weren't familiar with Warren. Even a flashback in Cold Comfort made sure not to include him, plus Beyond Good & Evil stated he was prophesied to join (not rejoin) the X-Men. --- Amalgam Universe resident Born in 82. ...
